There’s a fleetingness to certain chapters of life, times when we hover just above the ground, not yet claimed by place or purpose.
This series gives form to that suspended state: the sensation of drifting through the world.
Moving through spaces in moments without a fixed centre, still searching for the anchors that might one day provide a home.
The notion of a home is less a structure and more a question: Where do I belong?
Working in stone
This is the first series where I have started to work in stone using traditional techniques to carve figurative pieces.
I have chosen alabaster as it tells the story of place and time from many perspectives. An ancient solid rock material which is semi-transparent when refined using particular techniques.
